"Metallurgical coke" KM-80 TU 19.10.10-023-91304763-2018. used in the charge, to compensate the carbon deficit introduced by pig iron, and the parallel foaming of slag. Carbon-containing material (CCM) has a higher energy potential for oxidation in the furnace space (relative to conventional coke), because it has a lower affinity to atmospheric oxygen in the pre-melt due to the presence of graphitized component, formed during the production of feedstock (coke), and almost complete absence of hydrocarbon constituents, fully sublimed in the production of KM-80. Thus, the lack of total carbon in the material is compensated by higher assimilation compared to analogues.
